Montego Bay High School
Montego Bay High School was established in 1935 by the Government of Jamaica for the reason that the parish of St. James had no high school for girls. It was the first Government owned high school for girls to be established on the island. The school is controlled by the Ministry of Education with a local Board of Management.
The school has maintained a record of academic excellence and the results in external examinations regularly exceed the national average. On several occasions, students have been awarded for outstanding performance in the CXC examinations.
